In essence this is just a smaller, lighter and more svelte Switch. It’s hard to argue they haven’t done that. The Switch Lite then, along with its cheaper price to tempt newcomers, is an unusual concept but a fundamentally simple one: making the best portable version of Switch they can. Nintendo no doubt have the empirical evidence to tell how much time has been spent with Switches connected to the TV and how long in handheld, but anecdotally it seems it would be considerably skewed to the latter.
